One of the important things that I learned during my racing career, was that talent alone is not enough; a little bit of luck is important and support from people who believe in you is crucial.
I was fortunate to be one of the first riders supported by the Phil Burgan Race Academy and the moral and financial support that Phil gave me was incredible. Although I’ve now retired from racing, I’m delighted to remain involved in the Phil Burgan Race Academy in a mentor role that helps other promising British riders achieve everything that they’re capable of.
When selecting the riders for support this year, Phil, has clearly identified a very special talent in Danny Kent and he understands that the racing pedigree in a team like Padgett’s is important in achieving results on the roads. I’ll be supporting Phil and all PBRA riders fully in 2012.
