31.08.10A disappointing end to a promising weekend for Taylor
PBRA supported and British 125cc rider Taylor Mckenzie was in action at Cadwell Park this weekend and was aiming to relive the debut victory he achieved at the circuit earlier in the year. The committed Scot - who has been competing this season on both domestic and world fronts - was out to close the gap on those leading the championship. Unfortunately Taylor suffered a nasty high side on race day coming out of Mansfield corner which put a premature end to what looked a promising race for the youngster.
Again younger brother Tarran continued his impressive level of progression by securing a 23rd place finish from 32 starters. The young Scot is definitely relishing the challenge of competing on the national stage. Both brothers will now look forward to the next round at Croft in two weeks time.
Taylor commented What happened in the race is a classical example of how unpredictable racing is. I felt good all weekend, the bike was fast and I knew I had the speed to aim for a podium place. I didnt get the best start and I was left playing catch up in the early laps which ultimately was my downfall. I just pushed too hard too soon and the bike kicked me off. Its just one of those things unfortunately, there is a fine line between pushing hard and pushing too hard and in this case I just tried too hard. Still I am in action again this weekend for the final round of the 2010 Red Bull Rookies so lets hope I can make up for this disappointment with a good result.
